Partnership Initiatives  |  Nursing 2000

Nursing 2000 is a not-for-profit educational organization founded in 1990 as a collaborative effort between nursing practice and education. The organization provides a systematic approach to promote nursing as a profession and impact future nursing resources. Volunteer members are registered nurses from health care facilities, universities, professional nursing associations, and communities who work together to advance the mission of Nursing 2000.

A major Partnership Initiative is with the Indiana Nursing Workforce Development Center to strengthen Indiana as an educational site and workplace of choice. In 2001, the leadership of Nursing 2000, under the direction of a statewide steering committee, coordinated the planning of the 2001 Nursing Workforce Summit. The purpose of the summit was to initiate a collaborative vision for nursing to strategize solutions to address the demand and supply issues in Indiana. The Nursing Workforce Summit led to the inception of the statewide center, INWDC. Strong alignment, commitment and in-kind support reflect the ongoing partnership with INWDC.
